Sakura at Shinjuku Gyoen

Greetings - it's spring time in Tokyo! We took a long stroll through Shinjuku Gyoen yesterday to enjoy the cherry blossoms and found much more.

The garden is huge and has three separate designed gardens - Japanese, Chinese, and French.
Plus lots of space for lots of people.

The cherry trees are scattered throughout the garden but there was one large area, Cherry Hill, with lots of them grouped.

The cherry trees were beautiful but there was lots more to see.
The city forms a fascinating backdrop.

And the gardens are beautifully designed.

There are many different types of flowers to enjoy.

The landscape itself is worth the trip.

And the trees are wonderfully shaped or just naturally dramatic.

In some places the flowers reach down to the ground or the water...

Very beautiful...
